Hello and welcome to the Beachtown Property Family of Subscribers we hope you enjoy our news and views and that they help you in your decision making!

Hello to both old and new friends.
Helen and I have lived here in Las Terrenas for over 19 years coming over from England to start a new life.
To be honest we didn't do a lot of research before we brought our ocean view land on our first visit.
We fell in love and thought its now or never lets just take a chance and move to paradise.
The journey has been one of mainly ups with very few downs along the way, in fact the only issues have been for me Spanish and getting used to a slower way of life.

Its often joked that my Spanish is so bad its incredible that I run two companies and daily life without issues, If i can live here then anyone can.
Helen is great at Spanish and at times becomes my translator instead of Google
The Dominican people are incredibly welcoming , friendly and helpful it was like stepping back into a time when we all new our neighbor's and looked after each other.
We have no regrets about moving here especially in view of what's happened in the supposed 1st world countries.

The cost of living here is as cheap or expensive as you want it to be, we live very well on US$3,500 a month including everything you would need, staff costs, healthcare fees, car expenses, utilities, going out, shopping, clothes etc.

You can live on as little as US$1,100 a month without rental fees in an apartment you own

We have seen a lot of changes in 19 years in Las Terrenas seeing it grow from a small village with no paved roads a a little traffic, to a large town with paved roads and lots of traffic.

We are so happy that we purchased land away from the town in the peaceful hills, its ideal and only a 10 minute drive to the centre of town.

I would certainly recommend if thinking abut buying property to live full time to buy away from the busy town.
The time to buy is now the market has seen a unique and unknown dip is sales, we have never had this before in Las Terrenas.
This period offers buyers a chance to make offers and negotiate a deal that has been unheard of before.

Please check out some of these great offers and see more in our Video Channel
