Dominican Republic Flights From Orlando Florida
Frontier is adding a new nonstop route to the Dominican Republic’s tourism capital of Punta Cana as part of a wider expansion of its network.
Frontier Airlines on Thurs. announced a new Orlando – Punta Cana direct flight, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays on an Airbus A320, with a capacity of 186 passengers.
Raquel Reyes, Tourism Ministry Promotion Office director in Orlando, Florida, said the flight represents a great achievement for the Dominican Republic, “because it’s the only direct service from the center of Florida to Punta Cana.”
Punta Cana is just over an hour to the historic capital city of Santo Domingo with all its attractions and only three and a half hours drive to Las Terrenas Samana.
She said that the Dominican Republic Flights From Orlando Florida will also draw more tourists from Florida, with 29,016 seats available each year.
On the maiden flight from Orlando, 171 passengers and 6 crew arrived at Punta Cana, according to Frontier Dominican Republic manager Philippa Richards.
“We continue to make air travel more accessible and affordable for Americans,” said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President, Commercial for Frontier Airlines. “We look forward to making it easier for people to fly, and for people to fly more often.”
