The new  Super Pola Supermarket In Las Terrenas Samana opened its doors bang on schedule on Thursday 25th September.

I went on Saturday and was very impressed with the large car park and ease of parking, the main entrance is a little small but not enough to cause problems.

Inside the store is beautifully air-conditioned with various small concession shops and a help desk.

The Super Pola Supermarket In Las Terrenas Samana store has a fresh fruit and vegetable section with many products cleaned and pre-packed a great variety of fruits not normally stocked elsewhere.

The bakery sells some very nice breads and rolls and has a whole host of cakes and very good Doughnuts.

There is a good meat selection to choose from, both pre-packed and from the in store butcher, items like churrassco beef and turkey as well as all the usual meats

The fresh and frozen fish section sold both local fish and things like Salmon and Green Lip Mussels along with Giant shrimp, Calamari and Dorado.

There is a good delicatessen section selling a good choice of imported cheeses, cooked meats, cured meats and Salami.

 A chilled and frozen food section selling all sorts of Imported foods many from the USA such as Baby back ribs and bacon, dips, cottage cheese, French butter, frozen Pizza and lots more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A good sized drinks section with a good selection of International beers such as Guinness and London Pride two of my favorites that i used to drink back in England.

A great choice of International wines, Champagnes and spirits along with the famous brands of Dominican Rum.The wines and beer also have a separate chill room for those who want a cold one!

The Super Pola Supermarket In Las Terrenas Samana the rest of the supermarket has tinned and dry goods, sauces, snacks,toiletries, household goods, cleaning products in fact every thing that you would find in most supermarkets.

The aisles are a little narrow especially if you have one of the largest trolleys but i think most of the issues were caused by us all exploring the supermarket and looking at what it sells.

They offer a free in-store discount card which was easy to get from various young ladies that were in the aisles this card has instant discount on various products that are promoted.

All in all the Supermarket Pola is a most welcomed addition to Las Terrenas i will still do shopping at other local stores as well as i am sure other residents will, but for tourists both Dominican and International its a great “one stop shop” for all your needs.
