Coming to look for property?

I would like to just offer some advice to those of you looking to come to Las Terrenas looking for property. Please be aware that due to the busy rental demands especially on the weekends viewing property on Saturday is difficult. Sunday is almost impossible as developments are closed and getting staff to open up is hard as Sunday is their only days holiday. So please ensure that you look at coming in the week and allowing at least 3 or 4 days to see the town its places of interest and property. Please ask us to send you our Hotel recommendation list and transfer and car hire details.

We had Helen's old school friend from the age of 9, Karen and her youngest daughter, Eve stay with us for two weeks just before Easter.
|
They have been here before so they were very much at home enjoying the sun, beaches, town and relaxing at our house. Eve rides horses back in England so she asked if we could go horse back riding as she wanted to gallop along the beach.
|
So I contacted Nicole at Rancho Playa that is a very professionally run equestrian centre and explained what we wanted to do.
|
Nicole and her staff speak English and asked me to give each riders weight and experience and asked if any one was under 16.
|
I told her that Eve and myself where proficient and could gallop with control.
|
Helen was confident but only up to a trot and Karen was terrified but agreed to come along after i told her they would look after her. So we headed of to the ranch which was only a 4 miles from our house. They told us they had prepared the horses for each of us according to weight and ability, and that a guide would be with each of us until we demonstrated our riding skills or not as the case may be.

Eve had to wear a riding hat that was supplied which is compulsory for under 16's we were given the option, after we signed a disclaimer. Nicole then introduced us to our guides and horses I was told my horse was the most willful and needed a strong rider, oh no why me I thought!

We were shown how to correctly mount the horses and how to control them correctly and more importantly how to stop them.
|
We all mounted up and with our guides moved out onto the road. The guides were very professional and those that could control their horses were left to do so, after 10 minutes we left the road and headed down an unpaved track towards the beach.
|
The guides pointed out coffee, Cacao and a whole host of fruit trees and other plants. We finally arrived on the beach and Nicole then asked each person what they felt safe and comfortable doing.

We all managed to trot along with Eve and myself cantering then waiting for the group. The beaches we travelled were stunning and deserted apart from a few dogs and a couple of fisherman.

Eve was desperate to gallop so as we were going back we went with Nicole. I was told to go first as my horse was the fastest and chased any other horse.
|
I kicked him and like a jockey over its head up in my saddle went down the beach like a rocket the horse could certainly move fast. Even the beach dogs that ran out had no chance of catching us, well i had to pull him up as we were running out of beach after a 6 minute gallop.

I could see Eve galloping towards me with Nicole and tried my best to video it. Eve loved the experience and we both relived the gallop to each other. We caught up to the others and went back to the ranch and told our galloping story.

A fantastic trip for any one we were lucky as we had it all to ourselves i highly recommend it to anyone! Nicole and her staff were brilliant call them at Rancho Playa

We currently have four projects with a value of US$2 million that are in various stages of design with one ready to start construction, next door to the house we built in Bella Vista.

Prices start at around US$200,000 for a three bedroom house! I am currently building a whole new construction website which with work load is taking forever, i need at least a full week to really make headway.
