A brief summary of our travels
|
Business class lounge at Santo Domingo a good start to our holiday
|
|
Helly so excited flying from Santo Domingo to Madrid business class, the flight was perfect we arrived the next day and then flew to Nice France.
|
|
|
We were invited to stay with our dear friends Bruno and Ann who are from Belgium but live part time in Mougin South of France and Monaco.
|
|
So we arranged to go spend a 6 days with them and their family then go to England to see our families and friends.
|
The whole trip would see us take six flights and visit six countries if you include Monaco as a country its really a Principality, some countries like Belgium and Spain were only airport transfers.
|

These are are wonderful friends Bruno and Ann along with one of their sons Bob and his friends.
|

Bruno picked us up and took us back to his beautiful home in Mougin South of France which is an old medieval town built on a hill.

We went to both Italy to the markets which was great to see the most fantastic selection of home grown produce, cheeses, meat and pasta.
|
|
|
The next day we drove along the French Riviera seeing sights that i remembered as a young man, going through Nice and looking at Cap Ferrat then on and into Monaco.

We had a great time made extra special as Bruno and Ann are both Monaco residents and know the place so well, we were treated like Royalty.
|
|
The next day we all went on Brunos boat to Pampelonne beach near St Tropez to have dinner at our friend Patrick's restaurant the Tropicana a must go place to dine for everyone.
|

We all had a great day which continued well into the early hours back at Bruno's beautiful home.
|
|
sadly we had to leave the next morning and fly via Nice to Manchester England.
|
|
We were met at the airport by both Helens brother and My old friend Jon Joe as we were parting ways for a few days. I went to Lichfield near Birmingham and Helly went to her brothers near Sheffield.
|
I then moved to Birmingham city and met with old friends and family over two days. the city is amazing so many changes it surely lives up to its well earned title of being England's second city.

Birmingham was great loved seeing old friends some i had not seen since i was 16 years old. But it was time to leave and head to Stratford-Upon-Avon a town i know so very well as my dear Mom lived there for 15 years

We had a great time with my brother, sister in law, Helen's brother his wife my Godson Douglas and my old friend Jon Joe.

The next day we set of for Warwick a town again i know so well from many visits over 55 years of life, the castle is amazing a must for any one that visits England.aa
|

|
|
Little Douglas my Godson and Nephew loved the castle as we all did seeing displays of birds of prey, Knights jousting and recreating moments in English history.
|
Finally off to Oughtibridge Helens brothers home town were we spent a few idyllic days at country pubs and on the river along with me meeting two of Helen's cousins at the Greyhound racing.

Sadly two weeks goes so fast and we had to come home via Madrid but again flying business class gave us a beautiful VIP lounge and a relaxing flight to Santo Domingo
|

|
|
To finish our wonderful holiday we spent the night at our favourite hotel in the Zona Colonial the Billini Hotel the restaurant is fantastic.
|
The next day we head for home excited at seeing the five fur babies and Johnnie who looked after them and the house.
|

I would like to just offer some advice to those of you looking to come to Las Terrenas looking for property.
Please be aware that due to the busy rental demands especially on the weekends viewing property on Saturday is difficult.
Sunday is almost impossible as developments are closed and getting staff to open up is hard as Sunday is their only days holiday.
So please ensure that you look at coming in the week and allowing at least 3 or 4 days to see the town its places of interest and property.
