Christmas is well under way here in Las Terrenas and the rest of the DR.

My own tree has been up since last weekend, lights and further decorations are being added as I get them.

We have a busy Christmas with Helens Father and Aunt coming for three weeks starting on the 11th.
|

Then we have several existing clients here, we had a great day yesterday throwing a BBQ at our house that lasted well into the night!

It was nice to see clients getting to know each other with three sets of clients all owning property in the same development!
|
Then we have new clients coming to enjoy Christmas and look for property and new build house sites.
|
I will give more details of our booming construction business in the next offering I send out.

The Dominicans celebrate Christmas for basically the whole month of December with lots of ingeniously designed Christmas decorations, trees and lights, parades and giving of gifts.

One great tradition is The “Charamicos”
|
|
Along with the “cold” wind, which starts in early November another sign of Christmas in the Dominican Republic is the appearance of hundreds of wooden hand-crafted Christmas trees, stars, reindeers and other animals displayed in the streets.

According to their history, artisans started making these white “charamico” trees, as a way of having our own trees covered in “snow” (since it will never snow in the tropics).
