Tuesday, September 15, the Dominican Government’s Recovery Plan began to reactivate the arrival of tourists to the country in the face of a special situation, the coronavirus pandemic.

To ensure that the new measures in the air terminals of the tourist areas are complied with, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, toured the Las Américas, La Romana International and Punta Cana airports.

Listín Diario accompanied Collado and verified that thermometers and breath tests are a hope for the industry without chimneys to regain its splendor.

Collado, who shows great compatibility with the private sector, assured that health protocols are being followed.

The public-private alliance is being promoted more rigorously so that close to 150,000 jobs are not lost that would be at stake if tourism is paralyzed.

One of the government’s strategies has been for all tourism stakeholders to work hand in hand in favor of the tourist regaining the confidence of traveling to a safe destination in the face of COVID-19.

This reporter witnessed the application of the breath test. In a small tube you should blow three times, inhaling and exhaling strongly. Results are ready in an estimated 30 to 60 seconds.

In airports there are now several devices placed that measure the temperature and in turn verify if a person is wearing a mask. When this piece is not available, a voice stands out: “it does not have a mask, it cannot pass.
