Las Terrenas Water Treatment plant inaugurated by the President 
LAS TERRENAS. Samana. President Luis Abinader inaugurated the wastewater treatment plant here this morning and took the first step to start the reconstruction of the El Limón-Playa Morón and Ramal Punta Lanza del Norte stretch road highway.
The president said that he will support tourism in Samaná, because it supports employment and that the interest is to recover the thousands of jobs that have been lost as a result of the pandemic.
He said that the Las Terrenas Water Treatment plant will be identified with the tourist clusters in the area and the authorities, since tourism is essential for the economy.
“I want the thousands of jobs to be able to return,” said the president.
He said that the work means a lot for the tourist development of El Limón, Morón and areas surrounding Las Terrenas.
The president also promised the construction of the El Limón bridge and that this work is part of what will be done in the first hundred days.
He said that the money from the different works comes from the accurate spending that in his opinion is handled with transparency.
The president said that Samaná had the moment of its true sustainable development.
Tourism Minister David Collado said that the time for Samaná has arrived and that the road section to be built will cost 121 million pesos, which will open the doors to development.
He announced that this project will be audited by the United Nations and that the section to be built will be 5.7 kilometers long and includes the paving of some areas.
The president arrived at 9:26 in the morning, when the helicopter landed in the municipal play to start his schedule for the day.
The first activity was the first picazo, then the Las Terrenas Water Treatment plant inaugurated by the President and later the president paid a visit to the Pablo Paulino hospital, in this municipality.
Senator Pedro Catraín said that artists Juan Luis Guerra and Shakira (Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll) have their summer residences in the area and the Cap Limón tourist project also operates.
